Seeings as it is quite late in the day for a Xmas tree we thought we had better get our skates on ha ha... SO before Laura went back to uni we went and nabbed a tree, we were going to put Laura through the netter and put it on U TUBE but didnt have time, so Ill be doing that next time she is home ha ha... She is back next week for an interview at Marjons so maybe after the interview or she might not get the position!!!!!.. We now have all the inside decorations up and it looks quite colourful! we have a real tree upstairs in the lounge and a fake one in the hall as that has under floor heating.... the cats seem to lying all over the decorations, up the trees, draped over the snow men and presents under the tree....I am not sure everything will last until xmas!!!!

Enabling us to concentrate on Purl Design LLP - Sustainable Architecture and allow our guests to enjoy the peaceful retreat here at The Mill Cottages in either of our one bed cottages, along with our resident pets, ponies, chickens, goats, cats and dogs! WE HAVE A TREE
BRIEF INTERLUDE OF SUN!
We had a little glimmer of hope and sunshine today, didnt last long but long enough to get these pictures of the woods and clearing near our walk, you would never guess you were in St.Blazey on our walk...its really beautiful...not that I am saying St.Blazey isnt but you know what I mean!!!
UPDATE ON BUTTERCUP
After a hectic week or so, its been manic, I thought I might meet myself coming the other way some days... But the kitchen is just about finished and painted, we have now fitted the new shower tray and screen too, so its going to be a weekend of clearing the bedroom ready to paint that now along with our work which we seem to be doing really late these days as we can only walk the dogs in daylight, so doing our life upside down at present!
I WANT ONE!
I found these in a garden centre near lifton... Its got the most amazing cafe if you are passing and fantastic shop a real old fashioned cake and handmade bits shop well worth a visit... well anyway I found these guys.... and now I am trying to figure out how I can make one, its a full size bull done in sedum and plants... He would great in the field!!!! and no feeding!!
FLOODS
Cornwall has been hit with quite bad floods over the last few weeks, along with a lot of the country. We seem to have got away with it relatively unscathed which is lucky, so I thought instead of posting some doom and gloom flood pictures I would post some happier pics from before the wet stuff hit! Gem who is the star of the Xmas card this year, thought it was about time as she is now 10 years old!...She loves the bridge to the summer house she can see everything from up there.

STORM AND STUDLEY
As you know we haven't much land any more, but seem to be managing ok, so we thought we would let Storm and Studley into Little Toms garden area as there is lots of grass in there, its only small but a great afternoon snack for them...plus no guests in there right now.... So shut the gate to next door, one to stop the dogs going in there, as they like our path between the fields and when their gate is open it is too tempting for the dogs not to go in their old field!... and two because if the ponies decided to bolt they would head straight for next doors very shiny expensive cars, and I am not sure our neighbour would ever forgive us if Studley or Storm raised a leg to them!!! plus I would be mortified I would have to move!!!....so all was ready, rope across the other end of the movement path .... and yeap they went in a treat, so when it became time to move them back, we did exactly the same, with the gates and rope....piece of cake we thought!!!!!BIG MISTAKE.... they bolted as I first thought they might and ran up the other drive to our house and then down towards the roads, bucking and kicking with laughter all the way (ponies that is not Pete ha ha)... So finally got a handle of the situation and got them back in the night time field for supper...what a pickle, I was stood guard over the main drive in to stop anyone coming in until the situation was back under control!See its never going to go smooth here, I think we are destined for chaos!
SOME MORE
I thought I would leave these the right way up, It was great weather today, we had our walk and then had to do the muck out as we werent here yesterday, but we had a bit of luck as Dad had cleared the horse poo yesterday so that didnt take us very long at all, jst the goats/chickens and fire to sort, then we painted some more gloss int he cottage before starting work for the evening to get prepared for tomorrow... which is what I am supposed to be doing now, so I best get my back side in gear or I will be here until tomorrow!! Its more difficult to get animals to stay still to see their reflection, have to work on that one!!
REFLECTIONS!
I have a thing about reflections in water, and thought on our walk this morning I would capture the things we see everyday. All of these pictures may seem fine, until you realise they are all of reflections and not of actual trees etc, they are rotated so they are presented the right way up for you. I like this sort of thing, you however may think I am nuts! But can't win them all eh!
XMAS LIGHT SUP!
I had a mad moment and put up all the outside Xmas lights, I sort of was avaoiding the work I should have been doing! But they are up and all working ready for Xmas, nothing else is ready I think it will be a mad panic. We are still painting down the cottage and the bathroom still needs to go in and we are only 5 weeks away from Xmas and I need to be ready as we are off on holiday after on the 28th! Perhaps I just didnt ought to think about it, its far too stressful, It will happen somehow!
A BUSY WEEK
After a really hectic stressful week we also had to go up to Chichester on Friday to watch a concert that Laura was in. It was really good, symphonic rock in which she played flute. It was a job to get there after sorting animals, steven, electricians, walking dogs and tim we finally got away!... But well worth seeing, on the way back on Saturday I caught some pictures whilst driving across Bodmin moor. The sky was lit up like it was Christmas! Mum was in hospital having teeth out so Auntie Lou collected Steve from footy and fed the outside animals, Steve was in charge of inside ones, As tractor annie said, "what could go wrong!" I always worry when she says that!!! Thanks tho!
