EVENTFUL!

We have been a few months fund-raising in aid of my dads charity www.justgiving.com/johncaddy for medical research into acute and chronic pancreatitis. We had a concert on the 20th October in the evening at Charlestown church where Nankersey Male choir, Imerys eastern Area Male voice choir and Laura on flute, which was amazing, she is so talented, must turn after me of course!!! ha ha. It was a sell out concert with over 200 people, we had to turn people away as their just wasn't room. We raised a huge £1358 for dads charity a huge success, a real tribute to all the people that helped make it a success. I was had the task of half time speeches and than speeches etc… I think it was ok I didn't rabbit on too long!! A buffet for the choir was provided by Helen and Dave of Lakeside Cafe, at the lakes by Snowlands, great food….mmmmm I think they feed us more than we feed ourselves ha ha.. make sure you all go there when you holiday here, very very nice food and people! and I had the task of providing 150 butterfly buns… we did 160 but go so fed up faffing around with them that shadow had the last few , we couldn't face another one!

Heres my press release in case you can't get it where you are…wouldn't like you miss out now would I !!!
Sunday 20th October 2013 in a sell out concert at St Pauls Church Charlestown Nankersey Male choir and Imerys Eastern Area Male Voice Choir raised the roof with there singing directed by Elaine Tangye and Alan Mugford respectively and their accompanists George Smith and Elizabeth Davies. A guest flautist Laura Waddell wowed and enthralled us with her wonderful pieces of music accompanied by Clive Ellison on the piano. The compere for the evening was Canon M Warner, who had a vast amount of knowledge of the history around the songs and pieces played.
The family would like to thank all the choir members and supporters for taking the time to support this event, a truly magical evening and to thank everyone who played a part however large or small in making the night a success, It was a particularly poignant moment for Imerys Eastern Area Male Voice choir, as this was the last event that they will perform together because after 66 years it is with great sadness the choir is to disband. We were very honoured to have had them here at this event, especially as John Caddy had sung with the choir in the past.
The event was organised in the memory of John Caddy a true gent and Cornishman who abruptly and sadly left us on the 2nd Feb 2013 after being diagnosed with severe acute pancreatitis, having been in intensive care in a coma for a month. Since this time the family have pledged to raise as much money as possible to fund research into vital medical research into the illness, as at present there is no treatment or cure for this awful disease, the hospital merely supports your body in the hope you recover, sadly John did not.
The roof was raised in a finale of the Cornish National Anthem Trelawny which saw a  whooping £1358 raised in aid of Core – fighting gut and liver disease through John Caddy charity www.justgiving.com/johncaddy as a lasting legacy to him
