HAPPY FATHERS DAY - DAD

Not a day goes by without a happy thought of you
and a reminisce over all the things you used to do.

A birdhouse or table or something to fix,
that was your calling and that we will miss.

Along with your thoughts and your everlasting smile,
to make us all happy, you’d go that extra mile.

Your laughter was infectious, your humour so dry,
It’s these things I remember as I look up to the sky.

The silent thought or the nod of your head,
the raise of one eye, nothing needed to be said.

We had an understanding, words needed not to be uttered,
but there was a few times you coughed and sometimes even spluttered!

We laugh and we cry, and wish each day you were here,
to hold onto you tight and keep you so near.

I can see you so clearly in my heart and my mind,
I will never loose that image of your face: so kind.

I remember the work on the farm that we shared,
you made me laugh but I think you despaired!

I still look to you for answers above and beyond
I know that you are there, just across that big pond.

At the end of that rainbow, sat on a calm, distant, sunny shore
you keep us safe within your sights, until we knock upon that door.

FAMOUS?

Mum took part in the Keep Calm and dance at the Hall for Cornwall, the average age of their Dance/keep fit group is 70. It was a collaboration of all dance groups in our area putting on a show, from tiny children to the more apparently grown up ones!! Their piece was really good and really funny. We will have to get her an agent it seems!!!!!

KEITH!

This was a picture of the end of my day, It started with the tractor not starting to top the field, I fixed it somehow. Then as I was cutting, Lucky got excited chased the goats, which chased the chickens, they made a right racket and lucky thought"game on" so she had one in her mouth, so I did a under 10 sec 100meters, broke my flip flop, fell over, rescued the chicken, shouted at Pete to help, like usual he had selective hearing (and for all you doubters out there, I asked if he heard me he said yes but he was busy!! He said dont put that I the blog! ...big mistake!!!)... so grabbed the dog, limped back to the office shut the dog in the office, got back on the tractor, started to cut and someone let the dog out,...kevin the cockerel was right in line for chasing, so as I shouted NOOOOO like in the cartoon fashion, I broke the other ruddy flip flop...so was then shoeless, as only have one pair of working flip flops,, had to wear petes which are 4 sizes to big and I had to walk like a mental case... which of course I am not.... Then Keith and Myrna said they had lost a chain down the decking, so we got a bit of wire to try to get it out, but to no avail, we had to lift the decking plank to reach it, see if you hang around here too long you end up like us.... Picture of Keith trying to retrieve the chain well thats what he said, I am sure Myrna didnt say "I bought a big driftwood lamp and it cost £300!", which caused him to go to the ground! ha ha at least we found it eh!

MY TREASURES

Heres just a little collection of oddities I found whilst walking on the beach, you find all sort of weird and wonderful things there, when I have more time I will spend hours down there searching. These are the tiny things I found!

COOL

Spot Shadow, she is hiding! The dogs love it in the river on the way to the beach they have a swim to cool down, I wish my life was that simple!... If every day was like this what a great time we would have eh, why do we have to work??? Oh yea I remember , to pay for the ones that don't!

LITTLE FRY UP??

Did the animal clear out and lit the fire it went up like a bomb, usually we are there for ages trying to make it light... this time i thought might have to call the fire brigade!

KEVIN!

Kevin the cockerel from next door stayed the night last night with our chickens, I am not sure if I should have a little word with him, cheating on all his girls!

JUST ABOUT SAYS IT ALL

Gem is not going anywhere until she has finished her tea and it better have one sugar in it!!!
Lucky will pretend to be good momentarily

And then go and grab any shoe and flap it in your face until you take her for a walk
And Shadow, wont go anywhere, she doesnt want to go and thats final!

PERFECT PLACE TO BE

Its great I love living here, just hope we don't get any mad thoughts of moving!!! Pete went for his first and maybe only swim of the year!, He is now on at me to get wetsuits again and go surfing over the north coast in the evening, .... I am going to have to have a very thick one, I have no circulation!! Rock pooling was great too, we found all sorts of critters!

EVENING SUN

Its great to sit outside when we finally finish work with a glass of white wine, Gem however prefers red ha ha.... I am sure she is a human in disguise!

WILDLIFE

Just a few of the things we see every day on our walk to the beach, peacock butterfly, signets, goslings, ducklings, they are all so cute, The swans are not cute tho, they will take your head off if you attempt to go anywhere near! After a long cold winter its great to see these sights.

BBQ SEASON

We have had a great start to BBQ season not that we need an excuse to BBQ of course, we even cooked our bacon sandwich one lunch time out on the table on a camping stove! Gem and Shadow are always on hand to steal your food!

BUTTERCUPS!

A sea of buttercups, looks really pretty but we would like to know how to reduce them as they are taking over what little grass we have!!! The goats had yellow feet when they finished playing in them!

STRAWBERRY COVER!

To stop Shadow sitting on my strawberries I had to rig up something from old bits of wood and wire, think this should work!! Hoping for a bumper crop this year as I have pockets of strawberry plants everywhere!!!

SUMMER ARRIVED!

A walk to our favourite beach with the dogs from home Par beach just a flat walk along the river, then on to boothey Bay, which only a few know about and then rock climb to Polkerris. We love our days walking the dogs, they have a great time swimming and exploring. Sausage sandwich at Lakeside Cafe by the angling centre at Snowlands then on for our walk finishing up with a treat at Polkerris! Gem thinks she is very clever up on the high rock and sticking her tongue out at Lucky and Shadow.... shes 11 in October you would think she would know better!! Just perfect
