Yes plural, landslips, we have had a few and this is a picture of one of them, we have moved tons of earth by hand day after day that's why my blog is behind…well partly… just as we thought we had cleared it and opened the drive again another one fell, we just have to think carefully about how we secure it and the bridge as the earth is like sand really difficult to secure….after being out there in the rain digging soggy earth I was glad that the next one happened as I was preparing Xmas food, so Pete had to move it on his own in the rain!… sorry Pete but had stuff in oven! I was very relieved but didn't like to say!
Challenge Complete!!, we sold most of our land and Farm House! Enabling us to concentrate on Purl Design LLP - Sustainable Architecture and allow our guests to enjoy the peaceful retreat here at The Mill Cottages in either of our one bed cottages, along with our resident pets, ponies, chickens, goats, cats and dogs! We have spent the last year renovating the 400 year old mill for us to live in, completed late 2012 and love every minute!!!... We are looking forward to another successful year.

DOGS GET TARTED UP FOR XMAS!
The dogs had a wash and blow-dry ready for Xmas, Abby was too busy but Fran did them for us this time, and they came home looking like little Xmas presents, they were very impressed with their tinsel! Gem took it a bit too far and started posing for the camera, tilting her head in all directions for me to take pictures like a little model!!!! AH Gem you've not lost your touch girl even at 11 years old! Just distinguished grey instead of black, alas it happens to us all, thank god for hair dye ha ha
MEET LARRY!
Larry is our new well "old" land rover. Once I swapped my truck for the lovely merc we had no 4 x 4 and think we need one really plus be handy for the dogs instead of trying to squish them in the volvo. We picked Larry up really cheap, he is older but he looks quite good really and perfect for what we want, we have collapsed the back seats and put a rubber mat in there its a bit like a van but the dogs can see out and the back window opens, they love it. Just hope it keeps going ok…. SO Larry it is he has arrived at The Mill!
MORNINGS!
I bet your mornings are get up in a calm fashion, go make a cuppa, shower , get dressed all in a nice normal way…. Well ours is get woken up by the cats haring round like loonies, jump out of bed because we hear a squeak of a mouse in trouble, dive around the kitchen floor in our PJ's trying to save the mouse from jaws of doom, whilst mousey has no idea we are his friends and gets his gnashers out!…. this one got up the curtain, I tried to get him out only for him to jump on my head, run down my back and under the kitchen sofa. Pete has one side covered I do the other and finally we catch mouse and relate him outside, then looking like some kind of morning monster sit on the floor out of puff desperate for a coffee…. Now which morning would you prefer……EXACTLY!
LOVELY SUNRISE
We had some beautiful sunrises in December, here is one of them. I juts love waking up and waiting for the colours to arrive… We wake up at stupid'o'clock so we have to wait and see what colours the morning will greet us with.
BIT LATE!
Its a bit late to update the blog as 2014 has started, but bear with me while I enter the stuff that should have gone on in December, but it was so hectic I didn't have time to think!

XMAS CARD!
In case yours hasn't arrived or you missed it here is the Xmas card front this year. Its a picture of reg the cockerel and his groupies! he's quite a handsome chap don't you think, knackered but handsome! Took this is the snow last year, thought it was quite a festive looking picture!
POOCH AT WORK!
Gem is trying her best to pose in a professional manner in the office. This is the best she could do, sitting there listening to the meeting going on like she was actually interested. She is so funny. Its like they actually work there, gem and lucky always go down to work first thing in the morning and its a nightmare to try to get them out to do some real work, I was out doing the fields and they just looked at me through the office door, not budging an inch just sat there in the warm!. They are right lazy pooches, lucky even has taken a bed down there of late.
GREAT LIGHT
Wish I took my camera out, I haven't done any photography really this year due to this year just not quite working out the way we had hoped. Maybe I will try to get my head round it next year, be great to start some real photography. This year we have been just concentrating on getting through it in one piece! But these shots would have been stunning on a real camera the light was fantastic and colours really vivid. I reckon when the skies are as beautiful as this is just Dad saying hi, I know he is about as I can hear him giving me grief when I do stupid things! He would say "ooohhh Michelle come on, give it here" and then do it effortlessly right, he had a knack of doing that, but I did make him laugh and despair at the same time! a talent only I have got ha ha, he only ever brought happiness to what would seem a normal day, been a few rainbows of late too.
THE CAKE IS DONE!
Xmas cake ready and marizipaned (is that a real word!) and iced ready for the big day. Mince pies and sausage rolls made and frozen… just have to wrap presents, oh actually buy presents, work out the xmas eve menu and xmas day menu as we have mum and brother and family coming, which will be nice, see if anyone else is stuck for somewhere to go eh we could have the great british xmas here at the mill! hey that would be something might have to think about that one ha ha…oh I better order food and drink I guess. Cant seem to remember anything at the moment!
