I am so impressed this is the largest piece of treasure we have been able to remove from a beach so far, we were happily picking up little odds and ends like we do…. got loads of bits we collect on our travels…. then Pete shouted…"look at this" and as soon as he did he wished he hadn't!!!!! The minute I saw it I said…right if we can move it , its coming home!…. So we pulled and tugged and nearly did me in completely!…. (I think the cardiologist said " don't do anything strenuous until I have seen you to assess you… But hoping I misheard him ha ha) I saw this and somehow I was having it!… So we must have pulled and rolled it 200 meters, it was the heaviest treasure we have ever moved. We were watched by some miserable people on the beach, not wanting to help or even give us a smile….very odd… anyway didn't phase us we got it to the slip way and Pete got the car…. we juts had to figure out how to get it in with three dogs!… It took up all the back of Larry the land rover and there was a little triangle that we shoe horned shadow into… Gem and Lucky had to sit in the from with me. And there you go treasure homeward bound, can't wait for some dry weather to clean and sand it up, this will look great, just can't get it in the garage to dry out until the landslip had been repaired as I can't open the door!…. SO what do you think…. excited??? I am…. mmmm what did I say about odd family! I am not sure you can tell the absolute weight of it in the pictures, but it was heavy, I think we will ache for the next week at least!
Challenge Complete!!, we sold most of our land and Farm House! Enabling us to concentrate on Purl Design LLP - Sustainable Architecture and allow our guests to enjoy the peaceful retreat here at The Mill Cottages in either of our one bed cottages, along with our resident pets, ponies, chickens, goats, cats and dogs! We have spent the last year renovating the 400 year old mill for us to live in, completed late 2012 and love every minute!!!... We are looking forward to another successful year.

RAINBOWS
It was a day of rainbows at Cawsand today on Rame head, double ones kept appearing quite a sight. When I see them I know Dad and Nan are there, I alway know they are there, but rainbows make the thoughts special.
DRAMATIC SKIES
These three pictures were took one after the other left, right and in front, look how different the sky and light is in all three directions it was a very bazaar day, but brought out great colours along the coast by Whitsand Bay. Tide was out and the dogs loved it.
COOL CAT
Smurf is the coolest nuttiest cat I have ever known, he loves to be all tucked up in bed…he doesn't do much but eat and sleep and sprawl out in the most comfy of poses…. What a life! If I had to be an animal I would be surf…no stress, loves life, and does exactly as he pleases, perfect!
PARASCENDING
I am pretty sure thats what you call it, what a great site at Whitsand bay and a cliff top cafe which does the best food… So if you can get out for a walk (it is gruelling to the beach up about a hundred steps, but well worth it at the bottom, or you can just visit the cafe only 50 meters down from the road and sit there instead open 10-4 every day, well worth a visit!…. I think there were over twenty parascenders and what a fab sight they were…. I took a picture into the dramatic sky and it looks idyllic could be anywhere in the world but we are lucky to have this right on our doorstep! I don't think even if I live to be a hundred that I will cease to be amazed and enchanted at all the things the County has to offer… And to think when I was 16 I couldn't wait to leave to discover the big wide world!!!…. then I couldn't wait to get back to bring up the children in quite a unique County!
STORM AND STUDLEY
Storm very aptly named at the moment and Studley are fed up with the rain and the mud, they just pop out a few times a day to get their goodies and hard feed then seem to retire into the field shelter with warm clean straw to lay on... to eat their nice dry hay. I don't know what they would do without a field shelter… mind you I don't think i would like not to have a little house to go into when the weather was awful…. and they can't lie down this time of year unless they have a little house so its tiring for them up all the time… But they are a couple of ol' codgers like a right pair of Mr & Mrs!
ROCK ESTUARY
We walked the dogs from Padstow around the coast but it was the hardest walk, we had to walk backwards on the way back because we couldn't breathe at all in to the wind, it seems fine over our side but there was really windy the estuary was acting like a funnel…still you know you have had a walk when its like this!
STEVE LOST THE PLOT!
Don't ever tell your son this….. I told him that I had bought him some post it notes so that he can stick them up to remember things, it might help not to forget…. what i omitted to tell him was that he had to write on them first and stick them up not just stick them all over the lounge! What a muppet…. the worrying thing was when Pete came up he just picked the ones off the furniture and thought " oh michelles had a bad day and thrown the paper behind her and they stuck to the furniture… he thought that was perfectly normal and didn't see the new all over the ceiling….. OMG so the sign on the front door is right…. It says…" Remember as far as anyone knows we are a normal family"
BACK TO HAILS!
About 10 mins after that last picture we had an almighty hail storm I tried to take a picture but you can't really see it, it was torrential and it hurt if you stood out in it. The weather is very very odd at the moment you just don't know what its going to throw at us next….
BRIEF INTERLUDE!
We had a very brief interlude of sun, so I thought I would seize the opportunity to take a picture….. if only to look back on and see what it looks like here in the sun…. I know it exists just seems to be hiding of late!
PERRANPORTH BEACH
This is how perranporth beach looked after the storm. Usually the sand gently slopes up towards the cafe/bar "The watering hole" but the storms had swept half the beach away and left it with a 7 foot sand cliff where the beach should be!…. I left a little mark in it! but the force of the storm has down so much damage, will take a little while to sort this lot out! It rained like you wouldn't believe but not to be beaten we walked the dogs and had a sausage sandwich and pretended we weren't soaked to the skin! Very Cornish eh!!
THANKYOU!
Thanks to Keith and Myrna for my beautiful flowers, much appreciated…. hoping I am getting there a bit now and over the passing out issues and A & E visits! Well lets hope so eh! But thank you very much they were a great surprise which brightened my day Love your adopted family member! lol xxx
GREAT PICTURE
Due to recent storms I found this picture of St Michaels Mount with lightening strikes, This is just opposite where my dad was brought up and I remember many happy days waking along and playing on the causeway trying to beat the tide!

LIKE OLD TIMES!
But too manic to take a picture! A friend needed to rehome some animals, so we thought we would help!… After organising cph numbers movement forms and enroling online it was all ready to roll to collect the four little piggies today. Rupert, Grace, Rapunzel and Roly four very cute kune kunes moved to next door where we used to have our pigs. They will love it up there, and I am sure Kian and Erin will have many adventures with them as we did when we kept and bred pigs! They do like their bellies tickled and rupert will even sit for his food! It was quite a game getting them in the trailer a bit of forced entry was needed but got them up to the pig paddock relatively easily really. It was funny though just like old times, we always were in a pickle but daily which is probably why I got poorly after 6 years, I don't think you are meant to have daily traumas! But was great fun wouldn't have changed anything. Ill take a picture if I can at some point.

HAPPY NEW YEAR
Heres to you all, wishing you a happy New year and hoping all your dreams and wishes come true. Heres to remembering those who have left us in body but not in soul, a silver lining and a rainbow, now that must be dad who else could manage such perfection. And nan is always there holding up her side of the rainbow. Heres to 2014, we must strive to make every moment count and use our thoughts positively and with happiness, that we are lucky to still be here and made stronger by what others have taught us and having faith in what we can achieve. Life is full of solutions. Heres to Dad, and heres to us all 2014 here we come!
HUSTLER!
Mum reckons she has never played poker before and doesn't know what she is doing…. mmm I smell a rat! She seems to have all the chips and NO one and I mean no one is getting them off her ha ha… Good new years eve though with mum, Colin, Steve, Ryan and Pete great evening.
NORTH COAST
Had a fab day off on Sunday walked around Rock, St.Enodoc, and Daymer Bay plus a boat trip over to Padstow with the dogs, even saw a Xmas tree on the beach! plus a wonderful rainbow that arcs over the two sides of the estuary… love that walk
KITE SURFING
They do this a lot at Par beach, huge expanse of beach and great wind conditions if there is a south westerly wind…. These guys must have been pros they were jumping 20 feet or more in the air, fantastic to watch, should have took my good camera... but they must be really strong to hold that kite, the power of the wind blew my sandwich out my hand now thats strong ha ha… just about as far as I would go and not strapped to a kite!
STEVE MOUNTAIN BIKING
Steve was delighted with his pro mountain bike and tried it out at Poldice, I can't even look down at the pictures let alone throw myself of the edge on a bike, I try not to think about it and am always on tender hooks with my phone until he returns! He loves it, must have nerves of steel! He assures me he always wears his helmet on the bike and carries first aid kit etc… I think if I thought about it too much Id be there making sure he was on the flat ha ha that would go down well eh! Looking good Steve! x
STORMY WALK
The storm came in and we thought best to walk the dogs and blow the cobwebs away after eating too much Xmas lunch, The dogs loved it but it was so windy and the waves were crashing in we would hardly stand up! But love that weather makes you realise you are well and truly alive!
SQUEAKER ALL WORN OUT!
Squeaker decided to adopt my new blanket and new teddy to snuggle up with and have a sleep after a very busy day… she has had to chase her presents all day and is worn out!…Oh to be a cat!
THANKS
Jim and Caroline gave us four little coffee mugs for Xmas they are lovely little hand painted ones, had my coffee in them every morning. We got Jim a wooden motorbike kit and Caroline a driftwood photo frame plus chocolate tools and chocolate shells… sorry guys, you know we are a bit wacky…. but hoped you liked them. And Petes mum gave us a piece of furniture for the hall, well she gave us the funds and we chose it, so thank you very much love it. PLus thank you to everyone else for our gifts for Xmas day, hope you liked yours too X
XMAS MORN!
I love xmas morning, and can't wait for santa to arrive. I can never sleep and this year was awake from 3.20am , just couldn't sleep, so I thought someone would kill me if I got up that early so I waited a good hour and a half before seeing if pete was awake and wishing him merry Xmas, which he was delighted about!!! ran upstairs and shouted "santas been to laura (22) and Steve (17)! and there the day started! I had a nice new santa hat and a really soft perfect blanket that I have wanted for a year! and then laura, steve and mum clubbed together to give me and pete a tiger feeding day experience at Dartmoor wildlife park, and we cant wait… laura had smells, clothes , perfume and things for hers and aarons future like kettle! and cutlery! and steve had a specialist mountain bike. Pete was very impressed with his fur lined wellies… plus some art stuff to start him on his quest of being an artist! mum came over too and opened her presents…. then my brother and family later on for lunch. We had a lovely day but only because we carried dad in our hearts the whole day as always, he feels like he is with me most of the time its an odd feeling but I am very grateful for and privileged really as I know he is always near. We had a lovely lunch, huge but lovely and a busy day really. Dont think we looked too bad for only having 3 hours sleep!
XMAS LUNCH PREP!
I managed to con pete into helping me, He offered to prep the sprouts and I kept him going with the old "oh can you just do one more thing please?" it was a lot quick with two of us, don't think pete twigged that he will have to eat all those veg the next day, even the baby corn which we have "corn gate" saga most sunday lunches as laura loves it and pete doesn't and will do anything to avoid it ha ha. Then I prepared the table, I think it looks really Xmassy even if I do say so myself! I'd like to eat here!
CATS WAITING FOR SANTA
I think the cats are on the ball, if they sit on the santa suits then santa won't forget them and their presents will magically arrive! They weren't moving anyhow, there for the duration it seemed!
MOLLY DOLLY
Gem, Lucky and Shadows cousin Molly Dolly the Shitzu (is that how you spell it??) well one of those…. had her new jumper on and posed for her picture, she seems very proud of her jumper, that doesn't make her look like a colourful sausage to shadow at all!! ha ha No very nice molly you look lovely, don't listen to them!
XMAS EVE
Well Xmas eve arrived and we had a very busy day, we always put on food and drink for family and work cooking for a few days before!… always dress up as santa, my santa suit shrunk this year so had to ensure black shorts under! Don't want to be putting people off my food now!…Caught pete int he act of pinching food before people arrived and then I seem to have been snapped having a sneaky cuppa! I did try to surf on the worktop but I think i need to hone my skills! But I think I may have won the "how far can you skid in your socks on the kitchen floor" laura may dispute this, but she had an unfair advantage of fluffy socks!
