PICTURES BEFORE AUTUMN
While we still have the last bit of greenery still hanging on before the autumn turns us to golden brown I thought I would take a quick picture as it happens too fast. We have had a great summer this year, a real heat wave hope its like it again next year or even later this year!
MR PRICKLES FLOWERED!
For the first time Mr prickles our spiky plant flowered, didn't really see it grow and all of a sudden it flowered!.. Well done Mr Prickles!!
TRIM UP!
Had a little trim up, the buddleias did really well this year they were huge and attracted hundreds of butterflys and bees. They did a great job. They have finished flowering so I gave them a little trim about 7 foot!... ready to grow huge again next season, they grow so quick!
AUTUMN ON THE WAY
Autumn is definitely on the way the beach looks different in the evenings now with the sun lower and temperature cooler, Shadow still messes me about to go though, heres a picture of her just before she was on her back with her legs in the air smiling at me to try and get her on her feet to go for a walk, its just one big joke to her!!! The more stressed I get the better fun it is for her, but you try staying calm when you only have a designated window to walk her and she is rolling around the car park!!
LAZY CATS!
Spot the cats 4 in the bottom picture and one in the top just draped over any bit of furniture they can find, they are really lazy and obviously far too comfy! Smartie is probably worn out after lapping up all the attention staying with Andrew and Eileen in Little Toms most of the week....WHAT A LIFE!
SATURDAYS!
You just got to make the most of the little sun we have left, so got up early, mucked out and did the fields, then changed over the cottages, walked dogs to lakeside cafe for lunch then on to the beach, back from the beach hopped on our bikes rode to Fowey for a cream tea with this amazing view....then found a band in the yacht club to listen to and a BBQ so gate crashed that it was great and rode back just before dark in time for X Factor ha ha... the marmite program, I don't watch TV as a rule but I really love X factor sad aren't I!
PAINT JOBS!
These two little paint jobs were Steves handy work the metal arch and gates were horrendous to paint the paint didn't really like sticking to it and when it finally did there was miles of twists and turns and gates to paint, he just loved painting those!!!!

TEASELS
Love these thought I'd take a picture of them, not sure why they intrigue me, but I love them, sad person I am!
KEVIN!!
Next doors cockerel decides to make sure our chickens are OK ,along with his own brood... well that's the polite way of putting it!! Naughty Kevin!
CHILLED OUT CATS!
Top is a picture of Smurf taking the art of Chilling out to the max and a picture of next doors new kittens! Now they are stupidly chilled out for kittens, great characters, don't know if they will visit like the grey one that comes in, think they are too laid back to get up!
STOPPED FOR A CUPPA
During our walk we also stopped for a cuppa in the pub, tried to get a cream tea but the miserable woman wouldn't do it before 3pm...now that's crackers, so we didn't spend our money! Should have seen the chap he said it would be OK...oh well... here's Pete with his cuppa minus cream tea! Helen and Dave wouldn't have treated people so mean should have gone back to Lakeside Cafe!
SEPTEMBER SUN
Today was forecast very heavy showers but after the freak hail storm in Falmouth and the lightening last night, I think we got away with it lightly, we had showers early today but the rest of the day has been great. We walked the dogs to Lakeside Cafe for the obligatory chili and chips, great food and great place run by fab people, highly recommend it! Then to the beach and on Polkerris to before returning home to pick yet more blackberries!
ANYONE KNOW WHAT SORT OF BUTTERFLY THESE WILL BE?
Not sure what they will be but they have eaten nearly a whole willow tree!!! Talk about the hungry caterpillar, there were hundreds of them!
LOG STORE
We made a log store out of odds and ends in the garage, I think the sides are an old door we took out from Woodmill Farm! Everything was painted black when we moved in the timbers and doors everything... Glad we didn't have that to sort again in the Mill! But it looks great as a log store and not too far to go in the cold in the winters evenings, not that I am wishing them to arrive! But we have this log store out side the lounge...must have a log store everywhere by now!
SHADOW
Don't really know what Shadow has learnt but she has taken to sitting on the top step with her paws on the bottom step, very odd dog, she will sit there for ages listening to the train go by or the footy! I asked her what on earth she was doing and she had a right old talk with me, which made me wonder whether it was me that was odd or her????

ENGAGEMENT!
Laura and Aaron after 4 years got engaged on Petes Birthday! so we had a little party round the good ol' fire pit on Sunday evening, they invited some of their friends and close family. It was a great evening, the weather was kind, we are used to fire pit evenings and know not to dress up as you will just stink of smoke by the time you finish!... Took some little pics first one is the cake made by Aarons mum, I usually am the one that makes the cakes, so it was great to be relieved of the honours...it looked great!...then pic of Laura and Aaron!..next one is some of Lauras closest friends, Kait who has appeared many times in the blog as she used to work here, before the events management degree, and also Hayley also many blog appearances before she went off to do a dance degree, Jen did musical theatre I think at uni... but great to see them all back, still as mad as ever. Then there is us and more of us and the bottom one is some of their friends. I thought I better not put Aarons family on here, dont know what they would think of it! Ill work up to that one! Great evening, now they have the next couple of years to save hard for a wedding and house and their happy future. Congratulations...WHoop whoop yippee! XXX Aaron did ask our permission and we made sure we put him through his paces that evening and explained what we wanted for Laura etc...poor guy!! But Laura is very special to us and need to make sure who ever is in her life to stay takes as much care and love of her as we do.. I am watching!!!!! ha ha only kidding, well maybe not Seriously tho, we support you both I am sure you will be very happy.
