WHAT DO YOU THINK!
I made a bird bath! and it cost me absolutely nothing!... I ..well we collected the wood on the beach and then I made it into this!... I am sure the birds will love it, cant wait to see one in it!... I am sure people pay a lot of money for things like this!
LAUNDRY COMING ALONG
Laundry is coming along, small and neat but will do the job! we have to make a little patio verandah thing and install the electrics and appliances so that should be complete by end of next week!
PETES IDEA OF COMFORT???
What a day today, it has been a nightmare, one of those days you need a few bottles of wine but have to refrain as you have to work late!! Well we had a brief interlude of agro today....we had to pick up a bit of worktop and Pete thought it would be funny if he squished me so much in the front that I couldnt actually get out!!! I dont know why I agree to such things really, any thing involving Pete will be a challenge, I should know this its been years, I cant be that stupid...wake up Michelle!!!!
CATS!
Our cats are real strange cases, they fit in quite well really. Squiggly is either chasing an invisible mouse or with her nose pressed against the window, thats when she isnt asleep in a giant slipper, she doesnt really do anything else. And surf well he just gets comfy where ever he chooses!
WOOD STORE!
The wood store is coming on now, you can just see the frame by the side of the feed store, it will be tucked in and hidden so should look nice when we have finished, we are re roofing the feed store in dark metal roofing, so it blends nicely and the old one is bitumen based and has warped with the sun (not sure when!) and now leaks, but at least it should look ok to look out on to... Excited to get the feed store turned into my store of goodies and treasures!!

I WANT ONE!
I saw that a neighbour of Mums had made one of these, haven't seen one in years!! But I need to put this on my list to make...eventually!!!!!!!
WORSE THAN KIDS!
Cant take Pete anywhere, we had to visit a furniture store for work not just a normal one, a very expensive one.. you know the sort...no prices on the furniture and they offer you coffee and home made cookies as you walk in... you getting the picture... well I took Pete there!... He was sat down on the sofas trying them out and drinking his coffee, I could see him fiddling with something on the cup and then in slow motion I saw his face drop and go white and then an "owwww" was emerging!!!! OMG what now.... he had only put his finger right through the bottom of the disposable cup, he must have pushed and pushed until it happened for some unknown reason, but I can remember doing those sort of things at 5 and getting a slapped hand, but at 56???? REALLY?????? SO as he was getting burned by the coffee trying to stop it from getting out, he was spilling it over the very expensive mussel colour rug and then running outside with it dripping all the way... I was left there to explain why we had ruined their display... I was tempted to say a few things but refrained and tried to apologise!. I think they thought we were going to buy a lot as they offered him a replacement, but I wasnt taking any risks and said no before pete could answer, you know the type of "NO" with a quirky smile and a grimmace at the same time and then a "THANKYOU" with the cock of your head... you all know the one I mean you all learnt it from you mums when you had embarrassed them at some point, I used that one!!!
CAT v DOG!
Gem tries not to be phased by Captain Squeaker. She parades inside the bi fold doors and as soon as a dog dares to sit on the patio she is up and at them through the glass, I am not so sure she would be so brave if i opened the door. She only has to hiss at Shadow and although she cant hear her, she jumps down and chases her tail for a minute or two, no idea why, maybe its frustration of not being able to eat her!!! only kidding squeaker!!
PLAY!
Andy managed to get these two tyres/wheels out of the mud, when we dug out for the base of the shelter, The goats we very very pleased with their new play equipment and the other one will be a flower bed in front Buttercup Garden... yeap just what you have always wanted to sit and look at a big black tyre.... honestly it will look just fine when I finished with it!!!I think??? I reckon Pete was enjoying playing with this too...poor guy..dont worry Pete ill get you a special toy!
TRACTOR PORT!
The little ride on lawn mover will be pleased to go under cover when we finish this shelter for it. Mind you it might go into shock being inside and not start!!!.. Hopefully not... Me and Pete, Ant and Andy laid the base and path yesterday, it was a tough day and I got stuck in the concrete at one point!!... ~Hopefully we will get the structure up in a week or so, should be fine, you wont really see it its to the side of the feed store soon to be my workshop, and the feed store will be confined to the back section, well thats the plan anyhow!!.... Got a lot of plans, I dont really know how we are managing them at present there are a lot of changes on the horizon for Purl perhaps too, in talks with a lot of people about different prospects to consider or not depends on lengthy discussions every night it seems. Head is full of organisation at mo!
RAISING MONEY!
Still fundraising strong here you can see at www.justgiving.com/johncaddy We had a charity event the other Friday a Cornish evening, with Strike Sound and Eastern Area choir. The proceeds to our charity. We made £362 and £72.50 on awareness pins, which details can be found at the justgiving site if you want to order one! But going great I think we are up to £4300 after this weekend. Be better if Dad was here obviously but at least we can try to find a cure for someone else, so others dont have to go through this!
I AM QUEEN!!!
This face should be on a stamp! She is like the queen!...She does exactly as she pleases, orders everyone around, but everyone loves her..., and unlike the queen, I have to say.... she rolls on her back when she wants to take the car to the beach and not walk, a very lazy girl!! She loves posing for the camera tho, Maybe I should take her to Gemma for a photo shoot!! Now that would be worth seeing, there could be nothing left in the studio!!!

I think he is really going to like the freedom. Oh and of course the obligatory go at drive through Mac Donalds!!!

MADE THIS!
I thought I would make something else today, at this rate I will have hopefully a whole shed or workshop full of oddities, which will be just great!.... Buttercup Cottage has a higher fence to the car park area, for a bit more privacy really for sun bathing etc, as we get such hot weather!!!.. Well I thought I would make a name to go on the fence to break it up a bit so made with out of old iron pieces found here at the mill in the ground on a piece of Sweet Chestnut wood! Well I like it!!!
BIRD ALARM!
No not the sort you might be thinking of ( and no Justin its not angry bird - just for the record!), a real life little sparrow I think? No sure but Les will put me right I think a tree sparrow has black cheeks but a normal sparrow is fluffy??? Well anyway woke up to this little fella singing me a lovely song... Thanks!... I think he was reminding me that the fat balls are nearly out and to get out and sorted and buy some before tea!!
WALKIES??
I told Shadow she was going for a walk and you know how she always plays up, actually its a nightmare going for a walk... You say the magic word, Lucky runs out and nicks your wellie and you have to hop to get it from her, while her tail is wagging and weeing as she gets so excited, so you have to avoid the back end at all cost!!, Gem tries to pin lucky to the ground to tell her off, so with one leg and one arm you have to part them, taking care not to get wee'd on or you will have to change also!, the car door was open and Shadow decided enough is enough ...why cant we go to the Beach in the car and wouldn't get out... meanwhile other two parted, and they are now eating like there will be no tomorrow, finally get Shadow out and she starts the rolling on the floor thing and being so big you cant move her you just have to wait!, that's all before we go for that "supposedly" lovely relaxing walk, god by the time I leave the house I have had it, why do we have to go through this painful exercise every time!!!
FEARLESS FOUR!
The Alpacas are great you can have real quality conversations with them!!! ~ok so plot severely lost there... But they came and stood all of them for their photo, Tommy, Jimmy, Perran and Adonis, no idea if that is right or spelt right but I doubt if they will mind!! They are real characters.
SPOT THE DIFFERENCE!
Had some spare wellies so made Rover for buttercup Cottage, so long no one moves/touches or goes near him, he will be just fine!!! Dunlop my last one didn't have any hair so this is the new improved model ha ha ... The more wellies we get through the more of these will appear, sorry about that... Gem just didn't get out of bed for the whole thing, she just thought, oh not again!!
LOVELY DAY! BAHAMAS!
After all the cold yesterday was like being in the Bahamas... Ok well not quite but it was warm here, we had our first impromptu BBQ, Got lots done, mucked out the animals, prepared the cottages, went to Boconoc Flower festival, walked dogs, got back, got food and big fire pit on the go, it takes two hours to burn down then you can cook on it for a couple of hours, so we always light it early, so while I was waiting for it to get going I took this photo just to remind us of what it looks like when the sun is out!! we stayed outside until we were frozen to the floor after a few games and things, which is always an experience not to be missed with Auntie Lou, honestly you couldnt make it up!!

DANCING GOATS!
No its not a new song, its Rocky and Ringo happy to see a bit of sun, and dancing about because its freezing!! Ringo wanted to have a close up shot as a victory celebration as he defeated Rocky, Not sure Rocky would agree!!!
FOUND THE HORSE PICTURES
We didn't take many as we were hanging on for dear life...but here are a couple before we set off!! Pete reckons he's a true cowboy now, he thinks we can go cross countrys and everything...MMMM think we are a little way off that!!! But was good fun tho! Mine was called Bryher and Petes was called Molly...
EASTER EGG CHALLENGE
Mum came over for Easter day and we thought we better have a challenge, so I gave everyone a easter biscuit to decorate, I still think mine won but they all seemed to think Lauras was best as it actually looked like a Easter Egg!!.. Dont know if you can spot mums she tried to slur the decision by putting her name on it!!! Shame on you!! and Pete reckons he did a duck but I cant really see that myself!!!
NICE PLACES TO SEE!
I thought you may like to see some pictures from Mullion Cove, Kynance Cove and some llamas we found on the way and a very naughty seagull, who kept creeping up on me! We were given a day out by Laura for Xmas to go horse riding, and we did, it was great and after we went on a bit of a ramble around the lizard, The sea is green due to the serpentine in the rocks and the rocks have it running through them as in the picture... I am on the floor as Pete made me run up a huge hill after our horse riding... I have hundreds of pictures but thought you might get a bit bored, plus you need to go down there and see for your self how pretty and dramatic it is! Ill try to find a picture of us on a horse as proof!!
WALKIES!
Shadow is still being a pain, she rolls and rolls playing until we get out of the drive, she is just a pain, attention seeking maybe, not that she ever gets neglected!..You can see her here pretending to be asleep with her leg out until she is ready to get up and walk, you just have to wait until she is ready, bit like the queen really!!... They look great all these three oh and of course Pete! a right motley crew we have...
COFFEE AND CAKE DAY
We held a coffee and cake day on the 21st March in aid of "core" dads charity. You can see a picture of mum and Dad all dressed up only a month or so before he left us.... You cant imagine how crazy this is, something has got to be not right... but cant change it, its happened, all we can do is try to raise money into research so someone else can benefit. We have made these awareness pins, which we sell at all our events, and you can order one through the post to www.justgiving.com/johncaddy and click the picture of the awareness pin.....Our day was very windy and raining constantly, floods etc, but we kept going and after a lot of donations of cake, Laura and Hayley came back from uni to make 4 dozen cup cakes, which went down well!! we counted up the final amount and made £801 !!! and donations are still coming in, I think we will hit the £1000 by the time we finally count up... what a great turn out for us in the rain, thanks everyone... You can see our total and donate if you wish at www.justgiving.com/johncaddy
