DUCKS LOVING A BIT OF SUN!

The ducks were on form today too, having a wash and a mothers meeting under the camellia bush!... I have no idea what they get up to but they are always busy!

SHADOW!

Shadow just looks so innocent....but just before this she had eaten the flower heads off my newly flowered plant!!!! thanks Shads, I will have nothing left at this rate!!!

MILL UPDATE

The Mill is getting there, last week saw two of our team leave as the plastering is finished....I made them a cream tea and was hoping to get back to see them before they left but I was stuck in a traffic jam which blocked the road and Laura and I were stuck solid for hours....anyway, thanks John and Steve I bet you won't get goodies on the next job!! But thanks it looks great. Adam is still here our painter and will be until near the end...poor guy!! Not sure Steve was that happy about his picture being taken!! He's probably just dreaming of his new venture in Thailand or somewhere hot!!

NEW DOORS!

My stunning internal oak upstairs doors have arrived...well some of them the others are still being made by Brian Hall, a very talented joiner!... I love them, you might not see what I see in them, but up close and in the mill they are truly beautiful....no posters on these ones guys!!!! including you Steve, no Chelsea dressing room poster!!!

MUST BE SPRING!

The tulips are out in the from garden and its starting to look really pretty here, the magnolia has started to flower..it always looks stunning my favourite tree in the whole of Woodmill, If I could, I would dig it up and take it with me! Not sure anyone would be very happy with that though ha ha

HERES LOOKING AT YOU!

For some reason all ,my animals wanted to pose for the camera today, where ever I went they were right in my face, maybe its the sun! Odd lot!

PIG OF A WEEKEND!

After the plumber not turning up Saturday after we cancelled other work to be here, that was a nightmare day, then he said he would be here sunday, someone did turn up to try to get to where we should have been last weekend....but dropped the shower screen in Lauras room and it shattered into tiny pieces, so instead of getting the water on he spent most of the day cleaning that up so we are no further forward and now its a REAL problem. It was one thing after another, really sunny weather and to be honest we really needed a break, 7 days a week forever is hard going, we just needed a stop but NO it was a day from hell, and can't even have a glass of wine as I am on antibiotics and got more tests tomorrow...sorry not a cheery entry but really hacked off!

SITE MEETING!

Pete had to go to do a site inspection and it was dark, he couldn't find his torch so I lent him mine....HE WAS NOT IMPRESSED!!! Suits you Pete!

ONLY TEN MINUTES

What can happen in only ten minutes!.... I only did the feed run!... Fed the pigs they are always ready and waiting, but fell over with the pig nuts in my hand so they went everywhere. Picked them up and as I went through the garden I got slam dunked by Shadow and stood no chance...I was over again.. The dogs get so excited when its feed run time!.... Got down to the ducks and ran the water through, then walked away and forgot it was on so the hose was in the air flying about everywhere, which wound the ponies up, they were then flying all over the shop. Went to feed the goats, and rocky started to eat my hair as I bent over to get the feed out, so as I tried to remove his teeth from my hair, of course I didn't say a harsh word to him!!!!!! Ringo thought it would be fun to jump on my back, so now I have teeth on my hair and goat feet on my back.... Really is this really what its all about... I had a meeting in 20 mins I would never be ready!!... Fed chickens, didn't bother to collect eggs as I was well and truly hacked off by then!!! Calmed down the ponies  took the hay over and storm decided it would be funny to...........sorry brief interlude there... squiggly had her head stuck in a boxing glove!.... thats one of the cats!!....anyway Storm thought it would be funny to rip the hay from me and run around the field with bits flying all over. I finally got back to the house to change and Pete said, oh aren't you ready!!!!!!what a game....made meeting in I think the right clothes and no hay in hair and think I pulled it off they would never have known the earlier events and I am not sure they would have believed it!!!!... Picture of Ruby before she tried to eat my phone! we feed her lots but I can't seem to keep the weight on her....I wish I was like that!!  ha ha... no seriously she is loosing weight and not sure why, am just hoping that when the grass kicks in she may stabilise, the feed she has is really expensive so it should do the trick....weird....

PETE!!!

You can always count on Pete to make life easy!!! After a really really busy day we had to lay the underfloor heating to our bathroom, just this second come in actually.... I got in there to find Pete in a tangle with the matting and I think the matting was winning...Pete threatened to chop it up so I thought best step in quick and take control of the Pete v Matting situation...I called time out on them both!!!! Finally after a lot of aggro  got it down on the floor, then at the end we had to pull the electrics through a 3 meter long draw wire in a very little pipe.... After a bit of a game we managed and then after we had no draw wire in, Pete produced another wire from behind his back, and said oh yeah this one needs to go in too!!!!! I could have murdered him, so we started the whole process again.... Don't know how we manage here really!!!!

BUSY WEEKEND

We have had a real busy weekend, clearing out and dumping stuff, choosing the tiles for the kitchen area as its all hands on deck to get it ready for the kitchen delivery!!! and carpet choosing for the whole of the top floor..... Pete laid the underfloor for the middle floor and the plumber came by and went through an electric cable so Ash will be pleased tomorrow when he arrives, ....plus the tiler has tiled over the ruddy shaver socket!!...  If the plasterboard had gone on the cables it would have been a very different story and I would have probably had to hold Ash back!!But luckily we can still get to the cables so should be ok >... I HOPE!.... Next weekend is set to be even busier as we are having some of the main electric cables changed over, so the whole area will be down for most of the weekend!

CLOSE CALL

Tonight was close, Lucky came in after a run and seemed to be choking, so I grabbed hold of her and it quickly became apparent that she had something stuck down her throat, she began to panic and then so did I , I shouted for Pete and rang the vet to call it in, I really thought we were in big trouble with her this time....but just as I confirmed the call out for the vet.... Pete the hero!!! got the stick from her throat and Lucky could breathe again....what a dog...I guess the thought of yet another vet bill spurred Pete in to action   haha hah t

SHADOW IN BIG TROUBLE!!

Shadow was less than popular with the builders especially John who just couldn't get over Shadows foot prints in his newly screeded floor!....They all stopped for lunch and left the door open so the dogs were able to get in and Shadow made full use of this, doing a little dance in the sand and rubbing her nose in the screed.... I had to buy them sausage rolls and toffee crisps to help them get over it!!!

SASSY

Sassy our 10 year old black cat seems to come and go as she pleases, but I hadn't seen her for a week and wondered if their was something wrong, but I think its just the warmer weather, she was out riding Ruby the horse!!!! She clambers up the Horse coat and sits on Ruby and has a ride about, odd animals we have....then came in for a sleep on Steves bed and was less than impressed when I woke her up to say hello!! as you can see!

WE HAD A VISITOR!

I popped out to see what Shadow was moaning about in the back porch, she seemed to be telling me she couldn't get in her bed....When I moved the bed I could see that we had another visitor a frog or toad?? inside the house, how odd.... I have seen frog spawn already this year in the pond at the bottom...so maybe he is just lost!!

WHAT A DAY

After spotting a small lump on Gem I rang the vet to get it seen too, but after looking at Shadow through the day her eyes were really red, so I gate crashed Gems vet appointment with Shadow and turns out she has a chronic eye infection that came on so quickly, she had to have some liquid put in her eyes at the vet which made her look like some kind of alien with green eyes, and she is now on steroids and antibiotics until Monday morning when we go back to the vets with Gem too, as she has to have a small op on her side to remove the lump to see what it is, so Monday morning is looking calm....Geoff gets here about 7.30am for a cuppa before working, whilst I am running around with Steve and uniform, schools bags etc, then the painter and tiler will turn up at 8am and we will start them, I leave for school at 8.05am but Steve always late so I am usually flying by then..8.30 sees the other guys arrive to start the plaster boarding, along with Ant and Andy to start the form work of the steps, meanwhile I have to have Gem and Shadow in the truck for school to go straight on to the vets to try some how by I guess helicopter to get to our appointment at 8.50am, and that's before I start work! So looking a good start to the week!
