THIS IS WHATS IT LIKE MARRIED TO AN ARCHITECT!!

You all know we are renovating the mill and working all hours at the moment as we have now accepted an  offer on the farmhouse and really hoping it goes well, but the pressure is on, as we will be roughing it at this rate if our buyers sell their house quickly we will be camping in our garden! Don't worry all your holidays will be wonderful and safe and under control, we just might turn up for breakfast ha ha only kidding!... Well as I was saying, we are working all hours at present and I thought I would stop earlier tonight for a soak in the bath as I am aching all over, and then a mad person entered by bath as I was soaking away minding my own business....It was Pete with a ruddy tape measure, I couldn't believe my eyes, he was actually measuring our current bath whilst I was in it! to go and look online for another one for the Mill.... Now I might not be the smartest cookie in the box, but even I know thats odd!!!!!! Is nothing sacred here!... Good job I didn't need any other facilities eh!

MY BUTTERFLY

This is really weird, I have this butterfly that always visits us when we are working and its really tame, it was there all the time we were building the office and is like a pet, I know they don't live long, but why is it always here, its really odd, she seems really interested in all the alterations tho, nice to have around, and so tame.

SUNRISE AT WOODMILL

At the moment we are getting fantastic sunrises, really dramatic, only I haven't got the right camera to capture them, but here's a little shot. I think my OM1 is in the dreaded loft somewhere and I don't fancy search in the dark right now, until ash has given me light up there!! But this is taken from the house front steps.

LOFT MOVING

We were just starting to clear the loft and summerhouse etc, it was everywhere, all over the tables, floor etc, it was a right mess here then at 2pm ish, Pete said oh yeah I meant to say we have a house viewing 10 am tomorrow morning.... I couldn't take it in, was he insane?? no surely he needed sectioning he wouldn't do that to me surely. The dogs had trashed the conservatory in true dog fashion  after a visit to the peat bogs and the house was probably the messiest it has ever been and I had a viewing tomorrow???? OMG so I had no choice but to call in the troops, mum/dad and auntie lou came for a couple of hours just to move everything back out the way... I still can't quite believe that happened, we are not supposed to be on the market until March/April because of the upheaval and stress, but things happen. They seemed to like it but we will just have to wait to see if its what they are looking for. Fingers crossed eh!

ANYONE KNOW WHAT THESE ARE?

I found these on our drive and I have no idea what they are, I have never seen a purple mushroom, have you??? If you have let me know what it is, weird eh, won't be eating that one!!!

NEW SIGN

We have a new sign for our Mill so I thought I would share that with you, keep you up to date and all that!!

NEW LINES

Buttercup Cottage and Little Toms have a new rotary line each which will be handy for our guests. I have also fenced in the top paddock area, so that children or animals like our rabbits that seem to have taken over at night!!! can play no the grass with out the danger of getting squished! not that we have much traffic but it does look quite cute too. The other reason is so that our guests can have a picnic on the grass without the danger of Shadow eating their sandwiches!! Laura and I chicken wired the bottom section so that it was a little safer. Well Laura did a bit then she went back to uni, leaving yours truly to finish on my own, I am aching like you wouldn't believe now!! I am sure Laura left for uni earlier than usual ha ha??

MILL COMING ON

The mill is getting there, but I think the money will run out real soon , so not sure how far we will get. We are trying to get the top floor ready to move into at least then we can sell our house to finish the rest. We have first fixed it plumbing and electrics, (only the top floor) and are now plaster boarding and plastering it. Must get to choose some tiles... there are so many decisions to be made every day on to of our heavy work load but I think we have remembered them all??? who knows???!! So its all hands to the pump this week to try to get that sorted, the bath is stoves shower bath thing, which I think will work well and laura has a large shower in her ensuite.

HARD WORK!

We laid about 48 tonne of 803 base and about 64 tonne of chip pings by hand we finished it yesterday finally, we had a digger to move it , but because it was in two single tracks we had to shovel it all in by hand, my arms are very sore now!! but it does look good, it won't be white for very long but will hopefully help the drainage and protect the drive a little. Oh and the guy on the roller is Tim (not the Tim that works in the office tho!) and the dog is Alfy who made himself really at home.

MOVED IN THE OFFICE

We finished the office and moved in Xmas eve or just before and finished the front steps this week, it looks really nice where it is, I can't remember what it looked like before, its weird when that happens. ANdy and Ant made us some secret steps to the top drive way too which will help when we live in the Mill. They are the step gurus, I have lost count of how many steps they have constructed for us, but that is definitely their speciality!

WHAT HAVE WE BEEN UP TO??

Well the driveway is in desperate need of some pot hole filling, so obviously when the concrete lorry said he had a wheelbarrow full of concrete do I want it anywhere, I naturally thought of the pot holes..... SO he kindly drove half way down the lane and emptied a wheelbarrow load.... NOT it was a river of concrete on the drive and now no one could get out, I couldn't believe my eyes. Tim had just brought his shiny new car to work too and some how I had the break the news that he would have to drive through the wet concrete!!! OMG. So i got some planks and got him to drive slowly over them to try not to splatter his car, that's one out, 4 to go.... So finally got the rest of them out, and I thought I had cracked it,, but after a couple of days Pete moved the planks for me and what was left resembled the grand canyon only in concrete on our drive, so very quietly Pete set about smashing it up to allow cars to have access over it, I slowly and quietly backed away, as if Pete goes quiet you know you are in bog trouble and the explosion is on the way. I took ant and Andy a cuppa but didn't want to venture down to the drive!! HE finally finished and this is what he looked like, splattered all over with concrete chippings!... Don't really think I am the most popular person in the world at this moment!!

2012!

I havent signed in for a week or so as it has been so busy here and I just can't catch up! I hope your Christmas was a good one and looking forward to this year. The animals here have been chillin' trust them, they don't ever seem to worry about anything! Smurf is the king of chill in' closely followed by the rest of the tribe!
