SO CUTE
Just had to share 3 more pics with you, looks like one of them has ad a hard night!..The little one asleep is the boy, and the one with face paint is the girl, the other little girl is all snuggled up!
NEW OFFICE FOR PURL DESIGN LLP!
The area has been flattened where the chickens were about a year ago, we flattened the ground and pegged out an area where the new timber office will be, services all in and ready to roll, just no money!...So this is works in progress, which will have to happen as we are renting out Little Toms as a cottage next year so pressure on!.....You know when you are under pressure its best to do the most important thing first...well Pete has put the pond in and is trying to make a waterfall sort of thing...yeap ...like that's really going to speed things along eh! What are we going to do work on water!..Oh and he has plans of a couple of putting holes!....If anyone described our life I would say they are making it up...could only happen at Woodmill! Any one got a tent?
TOTAL FREE RANGE
With the chickens being totally free range and just put to bed at night, we thought aahhh they would love that. When I walked in the fields they followed me all in a line, and then I saw the state of my flower beds they have really kicked them about, not sure what I can do about that except clean up after them every day, and there is miles of it!....MMMM not sure thought this though...story of my life!
NEW CHICKEN HOUSE
You remember that we are going to get Rocky and Ringo the 2 little boy goats who need a home, well, we have started the process, we have to move the chickens to a new purpose built house and clean the area that the goats will occupy. After endless hours of Laura and Kait chicken wiring to make sure the baby goats, when they arrive will not get their heads stuck in the large hole netting already there, and me and Pete looking like Mr Bean and Co on some sort of illegal substance, chasing the chickens around in full view of our guests..who we didnt realise were watching!....trying to catch the chickens to put them in their new home, after several dives and nutmegs we did finally catch them all. I did have to shut Pete in the tiny chicken house at one point to catch the last one, but I kindly let him out!!!! They explored as soon as we relocated them, Mr Cockrel who last year told us he was gay is in fact trying to be straight again, no idea whats going on there, last year he pulled his feathers out to look like a hen and sat on eggs....this year he has his feathers and is in charge....wonder what next year will bring!
OUR HOUSE!
The sun is up and the sky is blue!.....better than the air being blue eh!.. The Acer in the front garden looks lovely and the new path really sets it off to the front door, Just need to paint the front door now, but not much time....probably still be trying to do it in October! We have lost a fair few plants in the snow and frost, but I think we have saved enough for it to look ok, I think the blue thing up the path has had it, which is a real shame, see how it goes, might get second wind, cant remember what its called but its got green leaves...yeap really!..and blue kind of bristle brush flowers things I think it begins with A?.....maybe not??

JUST HATCHED
Had a duck sitting on eggs for what seemed eternity, mind you it always seems like that when you are used to living life at 200mph! But they hatched and they are so cute, all different, I dont know whether they are a mixture of call ducks and others or what they will be, but there are 11 of them at the moment. Not sure whether they will all survive as the buzzards tend to get them, but we haven't been that successful when we have taken them away from the pond. SO the decision is let nature do its thing and hopefully be kind to us.

KITTENS ARE GROWING
The three musketeers that Pete reckons I am not keeping..YEAH RIGHT! are so sweet they have just opened there eyes and starting to commando crawl around a bit in the pen, I am making sure Pete holds them regularly to make sure he loves them without him realising that he wont be able to re home them either!...MMMM sneaky eh!
SPOKE TOO SOON
PRE SHADOW GARDEN
TREE BEEN CHOPPED!
Wasn't sure how to manage this tree so we just cut its head off, you cant get to it really, so Andy managed to get up as high as possible, buy putting a ladder precariously perched on the back of a truck and climbed up waving a very long chain saw, so we cut around 15 foot off the top. I think a few branches landed on Ant but don't think it rattled his brain too much!...The other side was even worse. We had a scaffold lank resting on the log store whilst the other side was resting on a straight bit of ladder held by Ant and yours truly!...then Andy climbed on it with the chain saw while we tried to keep him up there! You just wouldn't be allowed to do such things in real life eh!but the tree is now a barrel, but manageable!

KITTENS!!
No I havent had them, although the last few weeks I feel there have been some near misses!! But no Smartie has had her babies, 3 to be precise, one black and white boy I think, and two dark with ginger smudges and white bellies and paws , girls I think?. Really weird as the dad in complete ginger and Smartie is white with grey....MMMM whos the daddy????
They are so cute, Pete is trying to make me rehome two but he's not winning yet, but there are 8 weeks yet! I expect when they are swinging on the curtains I may be tempted??? We'll see!!
Mum and babies are fine, she had them in my office! and 3 hours between each birth so she was fairly tired for a young mum. The photos are quite dark as Smartie is in the den Laura and I made ,and was afraid to flash them too much!
SUSSED? PROBABLY NOT!
Things here haven't been getting any easier, the dogs are driving me nuts, they escape on a daily basis, but today I have found out where!....After a whole weekend of fencing and hanging gates....I have figured out I was in the wrong area!!!! story of my life! But thing I might have it sorted providing everyone shuts the main drive gate when they come in!..YOU LOT LISTENING!!!!
You would think with the dogs having 7 acres they wouldnt need to go get covered on Peat and mud and they know I cant get it out of their hair, the only option now is to shave them I think!!!!!!!
Oh and the picture has Kait in it...she hasnt been in the peat bogs..just for the record!! It was just to show you what Shadow looks like fairly clean!
